Dehing Patkai is one of India's most ecologically significant tropical rainforests, located in the eastern part of Assam. The region is internationally recognised for its exceptional biodiversity, dense evergreen forests, and unique wildlife habitat.
The forest supports elephants, tigers, clouded leopards, hoolock gibbons, hornbills, butterflies, orchids, medicinal plants and countless endemic species. Conservation efforts have become increasingly important due to threats from coal mining, deforestation and habitat fragmentation.
